Dixie comes out with a hard-fought game against the Cedar Reds losing to them by all 3 sets. Dixie came out with a good mentality trying to get off this win before playoffs come around. With this season coming to an end, this puts the girls in a rough and hard situation to keep their composure to win this game.
The player that caught the crowd’s eyes during this match was Alyssa Braeger. Alyssa Braeger, Junior at Dixie High had the game of her life. Spiking the ball and winning the points every time she got a set. Her team and the fans loved how she was playing. This encouraged her team to keep pushing and to try to win the sets. As Alyssa would give a good comeback lead for the sets, Cedar would still find a way to get through the blocks and win the sets. Dixie put up a good fight during the game, always finding a way to start a comeback but Cedar always finds a way to break the wall and keep winning the sets.
As Dixie fans lose hope of winning any sets, Dixie girls fight through and slowly start trying to use teamwork and communicate with each other to get more points. Cedar puts up a good fight against Dixie and dominates, gets a good surprise attack and finally loses a set to Dixie. With Dixie winning this set, it put everyone’s hopes up and even the girls on the court.
With the hope of the greatest comeback, Dixie Girls Volleyball has ever had ends with Cedar keeping their composure and doing what they do best and win the set, winning the whole game. As the game ended I had to interview Alyssa Braeger and ask her some questions about the game.
The question we asked Alyssa Braeger. How do you feel about the results of your game against Cedar; “ Well as you can see, not very good because we lost the game.” How do you feel about how you executed against the Cedar Reds blocking line; “ I think I tried my best but of course, there’s always improvements that I need to fix to do better.” What can you and your team fix to win your next game leading up to playoffs? “Well, we can work on teamwork and communicating off of the blocks and movement we do off and on the ball.”
After interviewing Alyssa Braeger we all can agree that she wants to do better and have her team win the next game and to accomplish winning in playoffs.
